Why These Bug Themed Opinion Prompts Work
Opinion writing is hard for young learners when they have to come up with a topic from scratch. These prompts take that pressure away completely. Students look at the two options, pick a side, and write.
There’s no blank page panic. Just a simple choice and a reason to write.
Would you rather be a bug that flies or a bug that crawls? Would you rather hold a spider or a snail? Kids cannot resist answering these. 🐛
Bug Themed Opinion Prompt Cards
Each set comes with the 10 prompts written onto cards as well as the 3 differentiated writing pages, so you can meet your whole class right where they are.
The task cards are designed to be used before writing — read one aloud to the class, use them for a whole-class discussion, or have students talk it through with a partner first.
That oral language warm-up makes a real difference. When students have already argued their case out loud, the writing part feels much more manageable.
Each writing page is self-contained — the prompt is right there on the page, and there are three scaffolded versions so you can match the sheet to the writer.
